The goal for the church is maturity. (Ephesians 4, 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ).
For the perfecting of the saints: strengthening, developing, equipping; to make the body of Christ mature through His Word. (Ephesians 4, 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ).
for the work of the ministry: We are saved to do a work. (Ephesians 4, 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ). The primary purpose of the pastor is to teach the church the Word. Feeding the sheep builds maturity and discernment. We yield to Him. We are to exercise our gifts.
Ephesians 2, 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
2 Timothy 3, 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
