Jesus Christ is our Rock. (Psalm 62, He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken).

We do have a high calling--our vocation. Here on earth we walk in Christ. As we walk, we need to balance the scales. (Ephesians 4, I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called).

It is a virtue to be lowly as Christ. (Romans 12, For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith).

Philippians 2, If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Paul practiced what he preached.

1 Corinthians 15, For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

1 Timothy 1, 15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

meekness: gentleness; a horse being broken; power under control. (Ephesians 4, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love).

Matthew 11, 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

2 Corinthians 10, Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:

longsuffering: (Exodus 34, And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth).
