Luke 18:1, And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.

Prayer is a command.

1 Thessalonians 5, 17 Pray without ceasing.

Prayer is a gift. (Hebrews 4, 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need).

Philippians 4, Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

God is still the same in the Old Testament and in the New Testament. Don’t put Him in a box.

John 16, 23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

Prayer should be a priority.

For this cause: a marker for a reason. (Ephesians 3, 14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ).

Paul went to his knees. This shows utmost humility. We are to submit our will to God’s will. The position is not most important. What is most important is the attitude of the heart. How is the heart?

Psalm 95, O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.

Jesus fell on His face and prayed. (Matthew 26, 39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt).

Father: the Supreme Being; the Creator. (Ephesians 3, 14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ).

The Old Testament and the New Testament saints are saved in the same way: (Ephesians 3, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named).

We are not all God’s children. We are a child of God if we are saved.
