far country: heaven. (Luke 19, 12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return).

Jesus went to Jerusalem because it was His time. The Lord is always on time.

Passover: (Exodus 13, 13 And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem).

colt: (Luke 19, 30 Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither).

Exodus 34, 20 But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.

Zechariah 9, Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Daniel 9, 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

Isaiah 53, But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Psalm 118 [Messianic song] and Luke 19:38. (Luke 19, 38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest).

Jesus came to Jerusalem to deliver the sinner. He was born to die.

The crowds were rejoicing, but Jesus was weeping. Jesus knew what was going to happen. The people wanted a king to rule over Rome. (Luke 19, 37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; 38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. 41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it).

Jesus came to Jerusalem to seek and to save that which is lost. (Luke 19, 10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost).
