Theme: Jude warns and exhorts. (Jude Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints).

Jude: half-brother of Jesus in His humanity. So is James [the Book of James]. (Jude Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called).

Matthew 13, 55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? 56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?

Mark 6, Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

John 7, Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.

Contend without being contentious. We are to tell the truth in love. (Colossians 4, Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man).

Opening. servant: Jude said that he was the servant of Jesus Christ--a bondservant. (Jude Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called. Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied).

Spiritually, we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. (Mark 3, 33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? 34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother).

2 Corinthians 5, 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Jude wrote to Christians.

preserved: kept from damnation. God takes care of us. We are kept by Jesus Christ. (Jude Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called).

What assurance we have! (John 10, 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand).

(Jude Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied).
